On this page, we'll show you the different features and functions that are available and are shown on the main page after you login to your BrickFTP account. The information below is meant for the administration user of an account, not an added user whose page may look different have have different functions.

  1. Screenshot Part 1: This image is showing the left side of the main page of an account.

#1 is the main account name (not to be confused with individual usernames which can be associated within an account). You will be able to choose the name of your account when you sign up, for example a company name.

#2 is where you can customize a logo to be placed. This logo will also appear on your main login screen if you set up a custom subdomain or domain. In terms of branding, you can also change the colors of the pages.

#3 is where your account and user information is displayed. The "Server Name" will be needed if you want to use an FTP program (note: if you are using a secured FTP connection, that server name will need to be changed). The "Username" if your username within the account. If you need to contact support, supplying your account name and your username will be helpful.

  2. Screenshot Part 2: This image is showing the top middle portion of the page.

The "Files" tab is where you are currently at, this page will display all of the files and folders that you upload. The "Sharing" tab is where you will go when you want to access the files or folders you have sharred publically. When you have files or folders uploaded, you can simply "drag and drop" them over the Sharing tab to share them.

  3. Screenshot Part 3: This image is showing the top right area of the page.

#1 will display your username that you are logged in with as well as the "Sign Out" link. We recommend that you sign out after each session to help protect your account.

#2 displays three links, "Users", "Groups", "Site".

"Users" will take you to the page that will display all of the users in your main account. You can also add users and edit their settings on this page.

The "Groups" page will allow you to create user groups to help sort and organize users allowing you to easily edit permissions for groups of users at one time.

"Site" is where you will be able to edit all of your account settings, like setting a custom domain name, adding a logo, enabling API's, editing security features, and where you can upgrade your account.
  4. Screenshot Part 4: This image is showing the right side of the main page of an account.

#1 is where you can edit the permissions that users will have for the folder you are currently looking at. In this case for this turorial when you are at the main login page, these settings would set permissions for files or folders on the root directory (top level). There are three different possible permission settings that the admin of the account can set for the other users, "Read" (view only), "Write" (upload only), "Read/Write/Delete" (everything plus deletion of files and folders).

#2 is how you can upload files to your account. Whichever folder you are currently viewing is where the files will be uploaded to. Simply click on the upload button and a window will appear that will show you the files on your computer that you can upload.

#3 are three important functions. You can create a new folder and even subfolders (folders within folders), upload and delete the logo for this folder (each folder can have it's own custom logo), as well as view the history of this folder which will display a date/time, username, and what action was taken.

Those are the main features and functions of the main login page for an admin user of an account. If you need any help with anything that you see here, feel free to contact BrickFTP support here.
